*DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A HOUSE OF ETUDE PRODUCT, APPARENTLY IS A RIP-OFF FROM A CHINESE BRAND, so keep that in mind before reading.
Hello dear internet friends. I'm happy you're here reading this. I hope you're having a lovely day.
Today post comes from that one time I crossed paths with this product that I have never seen before. This is called "Tint My Brows Gel" and I honestly brought it thinking it was a brown eyebrow mascara (the right kind of brown, to be honest) but turned out to be something completely different.
After I did my research online, I learnt that this was in fact, a rip-off copy from the brand House of Etude (this one is from a Chinese brand called "Xiazhimei") and that it was a product to actually tint your brows for a few days to avoid filling them in and make your whole makeup a little bit quicker, honestly, its a great concept. However, I didn't find the results quite satisfying. Let's talk about it:
THE PRODUCT
The product itself has a normal presentation, a brown/clear tube with a black lid on it, however there are not ingredients listed in this, at least not in English... Probably they are in Chinese tho...
This is the color #3 Gray Brown, which honestly is a great colour for my eyebrows, in fact, its the perfect color for my eyebrows. The formula is incredibly THICK, its hard to distribute it along your eyebrow. The tube has a wand with a very tiny brush like the ones that come in lipsticks sometimes. The product smells really good but its not overpowering or uncomfortable. Also, the gel dries pretty quickly so you have to be quick when you apply it.
THE REVIEW
The trying part was were things got veeery confusing. This products has none, zero, nada instructions about how to use it, ANYWHERE. Not even I could find it on the magic internet world. I use the instructions for the House of Etude original "Tint My Brows Gel" but they didn't quite worked out for me. I used it twice and never got the handle to it.
I first tried adding little product on my eyebrows with the brush that comes with the tube, let it put for an hour or so... Then I peeled of the dried gel. The results? The color faded off in one-two days tops.
Then I tried to apply a thicker layer on my eyebrows and leave it on for longer... I let it dry on my eyebrows for 3-4 hours. That attempt ended with several of my eyebrows hairs being pulled by the dried gel and that was very painful. But the color lasted a few more days, however the pain of ripping off your eyebrow hairs was not worth it.
In conclusion, there's a reason why I love reading reviews online, specially when it comes to cheap makeup. I honestly don't think this is a good product. It's difficult to use, way to thick and the fact that doesn't have the list of ingredients is very suspicious. I'm sure you can find this on eBay, but seriously I rather keep filling my eyebrows instead of using this every two days.
